The Face of Peace and Hope

PlayaAs many of you may know, the organization that I am working for is called Paz y Esperanza. For those of you whose first language is not Spanish, perhaps you will read Paz y Esperanza and see a name, as I did, instead of two very powerful words: peace and hope.

I never gave the two words, which make up our organization, a second thought. I never stopped to ponder why an organization that works with victims of domestic abuse would call itself “Peace and Hope”. However, after reading a recent and poignant blog post by a friend about hope, I started to think about the words peace and hope.
